Twisted Toastmaster

twisted toastmaster"Toastmaster with a Twist"

The origins of proposing a 'toast' at celebrations dates back to the 17th century, and a toastmaster (also known as a master of ceremonies or guardian of etiquette) has been a traditional fixture at Royal and formal social events for centuries.

Today, most weddings are formal occasions and during the wedding reception require someone to co-ordinate, direct and announce the ceremonial proceedings such as the receiving line, speeches and cake cutting ceremony.

However many modern weddings though still formal are not following traditional lines and so we felt that it was time to reflect this new direction and provide an alternative toastmaster, or toastmaster with a twist. He will still take care of the essential duties but his approach will be different to the traditional red coated, dare we say, slightly stuffy toastmaster of the past.

Our new version is more relevant to the couple who are planning a wedding with a difference. Our toastmaster with a twist brings a contemporary feel, his costume is more contemporary and more suitable for the differing requirements of modern marriage ceremonies, be they same sex weddings or weddings celebrated in unusual settings.

We provide a toastmaster with an edge, with a background in theatre and comedy he will bring an alternative and sparkle and glamour to a traditional role. We can also offer a variety of alternative costumes or themes and hostesses on request.

Chris Cresswell is a highly experienced compere and toastmaster with over 15 years of variety experience behind him. He is also a skilled improviser, physical performer and comic actor.
