There is a good reason why people refer to the Red Stripe Band as “Jools Holland on speed”. They have developed an energetic and entertaining stage show since the band was formed over 15 years ago. The show includes on and off stage antics and features:

• Red Stripe on vocals and piano
• A lively three piece brass section (tenor and baritone sax and trumpet)
• Gemma Nelson on vocals (ITV “Stars in their Eyes” finalist)
• and rock steady rhythm section Steve Djurovich and Ed Williams.

The band has toured all over the world including playing at the world famous Montreux Jazz Festival as well as clubs and festivals in New York, Tokyo , Paris , Milan and beyond. They have played at all the major jazz festivals in the British Isles and are regulars at London’s Pizza Express Jazz Club, 100 Club and Ronnie Scotts. They recently performed at the West End Live weekend in Leicester Square as well as the Royal Albert Hall as part of the Ignite Series.

They have shared stages with Van Morrison, Chrissy Hynde (The Pretenders) the late John Martyn , Sting and Chris Barber.

They are included in the US published Compendium of Jazz Pianists alongside greats such as Chick Corea , Dr John and Oscar Peterson.
