Fumi Okiji's Old Time Jazz Band

Fumi OkijiFumi Okiji's Old Time Jazz Band features top musicians Idris Rahman (Soothsayers, Arun Josh), Ben Davis (Basquiat Strings), Stuart Hall and Roy Dodds (Fairground Attraction).

Fumi Okiji loves jazz from every era but in putting together this group she decided to focus on the earlier eras of jazz song from New Orleans, black vaudeville and the songbooks of Billie and Ella for an unapologetically nostalgic nod to old time jazz.

At its heart is Fumi’'s achingly rich, sonorous contralto and this is accompanied by a stellar band of musicians who all bring something essential to the group's sound.
