A singer with remarkable soul-fuelled tones, Johanna is that rare beast, an artist with both an instantly recognisable 'signature' voice, and genuine versatility. A love of Ella and other jazz greats has imbued Johanna with a sensitivity and ability to 'swing' with the best of them, yet she is also equally known as an intimate, interpretative singer of modern song. Moreover, Johanna can also employ gutsy, down-to-the-bone rawness and power which allows her to attack soul, blues and rock material in a way most other females can only dream about.

Born in London, raised in Devon, JOHANNA HARMAN, 25, now resides in Brighton via educational studies and a stay in India. In the short few months since leaving education, Johanna has been receiving rave reviews fronting bands containing exceptional musicians, who have been working with artists such as Jools Holland, Madness, Iggy Pop, Morrissey, Tom Jones, Mica Paris, David Gray, Death In Vegas, Paul Weller, Average White Band, Freakpower, Massive Attack, Supergrass, Babyshambles, Squeeze and more.

She is in increasing demand as the gigging and recording artist with a whole range of bands and projects who see her as their singer of choice, and consequently is considered by many good judges as being one of the great British voices of her generation. Recently, after hearing a 30 second 'bush' recording, Grammy-winning producer Pete Smith (Sting, Gary Moore, Joe Cocker, Randy Crawford etc) has signed her to an exclusive production deal (as a named artist).

Her previous gigging experience includes fronting bands at a variety of Brighton and London venues such as Concorde 2, Speigel Tent, Komedia, Hanbury, Latest Music Bar (formerly Joogleberry), Queen Elizabeth Hall and Cafe De Paris. However, Johanna is now also gigging under her own name in such prestigious venues as London's 606 club and, increasingly, selected festivals.
